Today: Learn how to write a CTA.
Sometimes, you want people to do something. It can be to check out a link, connect with you, review something, provide feedback or any number of things. Today, we’re going to talk about how to best do that.
An effective Call to Action (CTA) ties in nicely to the post above it. This means your content needs to be relevant AND valuable, otherwise no one will listen to the CTA. There are several ways to accomplish this.
The easiest is to tease your CTA in the post. For example, if you have a cool article to share, write a post that previews the article and at the bottom add, “To see more, click this link.”
Another trick is to tell people what the CTA includes. This builds up the hype for them to engage with the CTA. So, if you're trying to get people to read an article, post the first few paragraphs and then add a "See more" link.
Keep in mind that it needs to be clear you're asking for something. Otherwise, people might feel "scammed" and not engage. That being said, the LinkedIn community is usually helpful and won't mind doing a quick favor.
Take a look at these posts from Ben and Eli. Each post had a teaser and then the CTA at the bottom. Notice how the CTA is clearly being asked. These methods were effective for Ben and Eli and brought in significant traffic.
