Today: Learn how to improve your writing.
Good writing allows you to communicate thoughts well. A post can have a great hook and format but without substance, will never connect. Today, we'll take a look at some writing tips.
Get To The Point
Quickly. Your first few lines are most important. Tell your audience what the rest of your post is about and only then, get into the rest of it.
Eliminate Dead Words
Some words are extra. Trim them from your copy. Common examples include: that, so, lots, very, really, like, also.
Remember Your Audience
A kindergarten teacher can't use words her students won't understand. Similarly, an accountant or lawyer should keep complex words out of posts UNLESS that's the type of audience they're trying to build. Just keep in mind who you're writing for.
Less Is More
You don't HAVE to use all 1300 characters. A short, clear message will be better received than a drawn out one. Keep it simple.
Write From The Heart
Authentic writing is the best writing. Adding your personality to a post shows. Don't be afraid to let your inner you shine. Write how you speak. Write how you feel.
