Today: Learn how to be vulnerable.
In a world of fake, authenticity shines through. However, being real is hard. We’re conditioned to bottle up the tough feelings. That’s exactly why we want you to be vulnerable today - it’s unique and makes an impact!
The world is full of teachable moments. Tap into those moments and share how they helped you. For example, a business failure can help others struggling with the same.
Or, a story about persevering through trying times can inspire your connections. Find something that makes you feel uncomfortable sharing. That's how you know you're being vulnerable.
Be sure to tie in the lessons you learned.
Along with vulnerability will come hate. Because everyone has an opinion, and social media gives them a voice, it’s inevitable you’ll experience some trolling or negativity. There are a few ways to deal with people who attack you.
Ignore: This is the best option. Yes, it might sting but keeps the confrontation out of it.
Reply: Say something neutral like “Thanks for commenting!”
Delete: At the end of the day, it's YOUR post. If a comment is bothering you, just hit delete. However, be careful as this can escalate things and you run the risk of having more hateful comments sent your way.
Block: If someone constantly attacks you, you can always block them.
These options are all available to you. Keep in mind many comments might be poorly worded constructive criticism. A key differentiation is if the attack is personal or about the content. Just like you have an opinion, so do others.
